We understand that you may wish to delete your Narratory account and all associated data. This page provides clear instructions on how to request account deletion and explains what data will be removed from our systems.
How to Request Account Deletion
To request deletion of your Narratory account and all associated data, please follow these steps:
Include Your Account Information
In your email, please include the email address associated with your Narratory account. This helps us identify and process your request quickly.
We'll Confirm Your Request
Our support team will respond to your request within 2 business days to confirm receipt and verify your identity.
Account Deletion Completed
Once verified, your account and associated data will be permanently deleted within 30 days. You will receive a confirmation email when the deletion is complete.
What Data Will Be Deleted
When you request account deletion, the following information will be permanently removed from our systems:
- Account Information: Your email address, password, and account credentials
- Personal Preferences: All saved settings, voice preferences, and playback configurations
- User Content: All text content you've submitted for text-to-speech conversion
- Generated Audio: All audio files generated from your text and stored on our servers
- Usage Data: Your app usage history and activity logs
- Device Information: Any device identifiers and technical information linked to your account
Data Retention Period
Deletion Timeline: Your account and associated data will be permanently deleted within 30 days of your verified deletion request.
Legal Requirements: In some cases, we may be required to retain certain information for legal or regulatory compliance purposes:
- Payment Records: Transaction records may be retained for up to 7 years to comply with tax and accounting regulations
- Legal Obligations: Information required to resolve disputes, enforce our terms, or comply with law enforcement requests
Any data retained for legal purposes will be anonymized where possible and securely stored with restricted access.
Local Device Data
Please note that audio files downloaded to your mobile device for offline playback are stored locally on your device. Account deletion will remove all data from our servers, but you will need to manually uninstall the Narratory app from your device to remove locally stored audio files.
Important Information
- Account deletion is permanent and irreversible. Once your account is deleted, you will not be able to recover any data, content, or subscription benefits.
- If you have an active subscription, it will be cancelled immediately upon account deletion. You will not be eligible for a refund for any remaining subscription period.
- After account deletion, you may create a new account with the same email address, but it will be treated as a completely new account with no access to previous data.
Alternative Options
Before deleting your account, you may want to consider these alternatives:
- Cancel Subscription: You can cancel your premium subscription while keeping your account and using the free tier
- Pause Usage: Simply stop using the app - your account will remain inactive but available if you decide to return
- Export Your Data: Download your data before deletion if you want to keep a copy for your records (contact support for assistance)
